DJ Lambo

Born Olawunmi Okerayi, DJ Lambo is a multiple award‑winning female Nigerian disc jockey with over 15 years’ professional experience in the media and entertainment industries. As Nigeria’s foremost female DJ, she defines her sound as a fusion of Afrobeats, Afro House music, Afropop and Hip Hop.

Heavily influenced by her father, DJ Tony Lewis at a young age, DJ Lambo officially kick‑started her career in 2008 as an OAP on Raypower 100.5 FM, Rhythm FM 94.7 Abuja and Love 104.5 FM Abuja. She subsequently became the official DJ for one of Africa’s best rappers, M.I. Abaga and was signed to Loopy Music in 2013 prior to its merger with Chocolate City Music in 2015.

Following the release of her hit single, “The Motion” in which she featured prominent Nigerian female artists Seyi Shay and Cynthia Morgan, Lambo founded her company, 707 Worldwide, in 2016 which she used as a platform to host various series of parties that very quickly gained support from prominent brands. Some of these include “Lagos Party Animals” in collaboration with Ciroc and “My house on the beach” hosted in Lagos and Abuja with Tiger Beer.

In 2022, DJ Lambo moved on to Spaceship Collective, where she is currently signed. Since commencing with Spaceship, Lambo has performed at multiple arenas and stadia, with capacities of up to 80 000 people, as a supporting act to the African Giant, Burna Boy on both his “Love, Damini” and “I Told Them” tours. Some of these include Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl, London Stadium, La Defense and GelreDome.

Lambo has also performed at the One Africa Music Festival in New York and Dubai.

DJ Lambo wrapped up the “Love, Damini” Tour with a performance in front of tens of thousands of fans at the iconic City Field Stadium in New York, not just lifting spirits before the African Giant’s captivating performances, but also carrying on the energy she brings into after‑party performances.

The Shark of the Ocean, as she is popularly called, continues to demonstrate her skills as she commenced the “I Told Them” North America and Europe Tour in November 2023.

As yet another testament to her skills and the quality of her work, Lambo was selected by Apple Music for the Africa Now DJ feature for December 2023 and this compelling fusion of Afrobeats and Amapiano was featured on The Ebro Show, a prestigious show hosted by Apple Music 1 host, Ebro Darden.

More recently, she graced Los Angeles, CA with performances at the YouTube Pre‑Grammy Party amongst others, where she played in front of industry giants.

Throughout her successful career, DJ Lambo has recorded countless highlights that have set her apart from others. In 2021, DJ Lambo won the 2021 Female DJ of the Year award at the Beatz awards and was also ranked number 6 on DJANETOP’s Top 100 Female DJs in Africa. She’s also a three‑time winner of City People Entertainment Awards in the DJ of the Year (Female) category for three consecutive years from 2015 and was listed as one of the Top 5 Nigerian DJs to watch out for in 2015 by Nigerian Entertainment Today (NET).

DJ Lambo was ranked top 20 on the 2017 Smirnoff Top Women Electronic Artists playlist with her single ‘The Motion’ at Smirnoff’s launch of the Equalizing Music initiative on International Women's Day to celebrate female DJs around the world.

DJ Lambo has built and maintained flourishing partnerships with notable brands like Ciroc, Pepsi, Desperados, Heineken, Nigerian Breweries, Chivas Regal, Wild Turkey, Johnnie Walker and V Bank. She tops this all with her acclaimed 2020 EP ‘A Tale of Two Cities’, a project influenced by her experiences living in Lagos and Johannesburg which has garnered over a hundred thousand streams on streaming platforms, and a joint project in December 2021 with DJ Caise titled ‘Venus and Mars’. These projects have since cemented her status as one of Nigeria’s biggest House music influencers.

She continues to deliver outstanding work with her deep understanding of the rhythm of Afrobeats, Afro House and Afropop music, engaging the audience with her impeccable selection of playlist and bringing hearty smiles to the faces of multitudes of people doing what she does best – playing beats.
